Deconstructing Glitter  | Nic Lincoln

Renowned choreographer and activist Nic Lincoln is thrilled to announce the premiere of Deconstructing Glitter, a groundbreaking retrospective set to take place at the Southern Theater on June 19-21, 2026. This performance will spotlight Lincoln’s remarkable journey over the past 20 years, intertwining the rich history of the LGBTQIA+ community with his innovative artistic vision.

The retrospective will feature a premier work that deepens Lincoln's exploration of identity and resilience, drawing inspiration from pivotal moments in LGBTQIA+ history, including post-World War II events and the AIDS crisis. As a proud recipient of the McKnight Dance Artist Fellowship, Lincoln has dedicated nearly three decades to intertwining art and activism, advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community through immersive dance experiences.

Deconstructing Glitter not only showcases Lincoln impactful work but also serves as a call to action, emphasizing the interconnectedness of resistance through art, community, and activism. This performance aims to engage audiences in dialogue, inviting them to reflect on their own identities and the collective stories of the LGBTQIA+ community.
